Aerial Photographs - The Way We Were

"Memories, Like the corners of my mind, Misty water-coloured memories" All together now... No? Please yourself. You'll just have to make do with the latest group of pictures from yester-year, or is the latest post on aerial photos? It's both, double bubble, 2-4-1 yada yada yada. Oh, how we spoil you here at Estadios de Espana.

As you may have gathered from the stuff & nonsense above, this selection of pictures looks at old stadiums. First up is a picture of Malaga's La Rosaleda stadium which had the configuration from 1982 to 2000. Top right is Balaidos, home to Celta Vigo, shown here in 1971, before the stand at the top of the picture was demolished and replaced with a huge two-tiered stand for the 1982 World Cup. Bottom right is a picture of Racing Santander's old El Sardinero stadium, which was replaced in 1988 by the new El Sardinero about 150 metres west of this site. Finally, we have a picture of the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu, all set for the 1982 World Cup and with a short lived bridge in the foreground, which linked the stadium to the temporary press centre.
