Snowy Spanish Stadiums - Day 22

The story of Club Deportivo Logroñés reads like a Dickensian novel. Small club from the provinces strives to make the big time, eventually doing so and earning accolades from the high and mighty. For a short while it lives the high life, but then over stretches itself and struggles. Eventually, after a slow decline, it ends up destitute and dies... Happy days! The Estadio Nuevo Las Gaunas was to be the club's bolt hole to continued success in La Primera, but by the time it opened in 2002, Logroñés glory days were behind them. It occasionally gets to host the national side, the most recent being a 6-0 victory over Liechtenstein in September 2011.
You can read more about the stadium and the clubs from Logroño that have used it, here.
