Below are four examples of stadiums that have been built in the last decade or so. To start with we have the stunning La Nueva Balastera, home of CF Palencia since 2006. Next up is an unusual offering from the Basque country. Opened in 2003, the Nueva Lasesarre, is home to Barakaldo CF and it has embraced the new wave of daring architecture that has sprung up in Bilbao over the past 15 years. The third offering is the Estadio Olimpico which is siuated on La Cartuja island in Sevilla. Despite being the city's largest stadium, neither Real Betis or Sevilla FC want anything to do with it. You can call it the curse of the athletics track! Finally, we travel back to the Basque country for an altogether more modest affair with Gobela, the home of Arenas Club de Getxo, winners of the Copa del Rey in 1919.
