Negreira is a small town of 6,300 inhabitants, 40 miles south west of La Coruna and 12 miles west of Santiago de Compostela. In 1965, the local senior team SD Negreira was formed and they have spent all but one of the last 13 seasons in the Tercera.
That one year away from the Tercera, 2005-06, saw them play in Segunda B for the one and only time. They finished bottom of the table with 8 wins and 34 points, but a home draw against UD Las Palmas and an away win at Rayo Vallecano were among the highlights. The municipally owned campo de futbol features a cantilevered stand, which is 60 metres in length with 4 rows of green seats, and that’s about it. No hard-standing, just a grass verge and an overall capacity of 2,000.
